Meet our staff

Troy Tousey, creative director/owner
A professional designer for over 20 years and an artist for much longer, Troy runs the show here. At least he likes to think so.
A native of Green Bay, Wisconsin (Go Packers), Troy attended Northwestern University, receiving a degree in economics. After graduating, he decided to follow his heart—and not necessarily the money—and enroll in the graphic design program at the University of Illinois at Chicago. From there he began the journey that brought him to this place. Along the way he has been a partner in a printing company in Vail, Colorado and worked on accounts like Coors, Coca-Cola, Samsonite, Airwalk, iOmega and others at the Integer Group in Denver.
The birth of twins in 2001 got he and his wife, Marci, thinking of getting back to their midwestern roots. A move to Sheboygan, Wisconsin soon followed. And so began the current incarnation of Open Mind Studios.
Troy is an avid bicyclist, snowboarder and musicologist. He wishes he were a more avid guitar player, photographer, and concert promoter. His wife would say he needs to do more yoga.

Melanie Graff, designer
Born with an irrepressible creative gene, Wisconsin native Melanie Schultz honed her artistic skills at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Fascinated by a metropolitan lifestyle, she spent three years in Chicago at Panebianco Design before joining Open Mind Studios in January 2005.
"My career as a designer allows me to combine some of my greatest strengths: attentive listening, intelligent writing and visual communication."
Melanie lives in Elkhart Lake, WI and enjoys road cycling, skiing, cooking, traveling, yoga, and spending time with friends and family.

Shannon Muench, designer
Born and raised along the Mississippi River, fellow Wisconsin native Shannon Muench (say Minnick) joined Open Mind Studios in May 2007. Along with her design, typography and problem-solving skills, Shannon brings a healthy dose of sarcasm to the office daily.
Shannon’s creative aspirations landed her at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa where she received a BFA in Graphic Design. After cutting her teeth as a young designer laying out product catalogs for NASCAR, NBA, MLB and the NFL for WinCraft, Inc. in Winona, Minnesota, Shannon made the move to Sheboygan to join Open Mind Studios.
Shannon lives in the city and is active in the community as a member of the Sheboygan POPS Concert Band, Team Maywood and the Sheboygan County Quilter’s Guild. She is an avid volleyball player and quilter, enjoys swimming, triathlon, and board games. Her goals include learning to play guitar, how to kiteboard and spending more time with friends and family.
